DO NOT use General Moving & Storage for your move. They destroyed, damaged and stole almost everything they touched. Once again DO NOT use this company. They bogus and sub out the move to unquailed people!!!

First when they sent me a quote I was a little worried because I never got a good result using any moving company but I hired General moving & storage based on a recommendation. I thought there would be something wrong and asked them for more information. So after checking everything I decided to go with them and never regretted my decision. They were very nice, fast and at the same time careful with my furniture. Nothing was broken or damaged. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is planning to move. Great prices, great service, what else can you need?

I am grateful to General moving & storage. These guys gave their best while I was relocating a long distance. Rose at the office was very responsive. She answered all my questions, explained the process but never tried to push me to hire them. I was under a tight deadline. Their rep made sure that the job was done within my deadline. The foreman and his men arrived on time at the big day. They packed the entire house in record time, completed the loading with great efficiency and also delivered everything on time and without any damage. There was nothing that could have bothered me for a second. Everything went according to the plan and in a quick time. I am very happy with the way they accomplished the task.

General moving & storage is a company that really cares for you and your belongings. Their movers were so careful while handling my valuables while relocating them. Nothing was overlooked by these men. They used enough packing materials to make sure that my belongings would travel safely. They were done with the job so quickly. The same job has taken other movers all day long. It’s crazy how fast and thorough these guys were. I took an inventory when they delivered everything. I realized that nothing was missing and there was not even a dent on anything. It really was the perfect relocation.

The movers from General moving & storage serve all the good recommendations I can give them. These boys made a complicated move look too easy. I had one house and two storage units full of things, heavy things if I might add, they needed to move halfway across the country. They managed to do so without causing a single scratch on any of the items. I just couldn’t believe my eyes! This company was very responsive in setting it up, we found days the next week that would work even in peak moving season, and they didn’t require a deposit. The 3-men crew was efficient and friendly. They helped with disassembly and left furniture I didn’t want for the trash. I was happy to have the same crew members move in the next day. They were familiar with my items, and they understood in working with us to separate items going to an apartment and others going to storage and taking them to different places. They also put all the boxes for the apartment in the right room by label, which I have seen not happen in other moves.

Moving to a new apartment is always troublesome; troublesome because of the amount of moving one has to do. However if you have the correct moving company to assist you, the task seems easy. We hired General moving & storage after seeing the advertisement on the internet. We noted their number and I felt the company took control of the situation right from the very first call. We agreed to move on a fixed date and there was no problem at all. It was exactly what I wanted. I did not need to move a muscle. They delivered on time and did not damage a thing. Brilliant!!

The foreman coordinated my whole move in skilled hands and with depth knowledge. He knew how to make a perfect move. The crews were also dedicated and followed every instruction of their supervisor. The coordinator always kept in touch until my possessions were handed over to me. The delivery was on time. I was VERY impressed with General moving & storage. They were professional, very informative, right on time and very efficient! They loaded my moving truck with precision and were very helpful in giving me tips to finish up. There was NO damage to anything, either in my apartment or in the truck. When I came to check, everything was in order in the truck and it was secured tightly. I will certainly call them in the future when I need to move! I want to give this place ZERO stars!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They absolutely cheated me out of my money!!! The initial person who did my estimate left off important items from my inventory, they didn’t reserve enough space for the items on my inventory, they sent one mover to pick everything up and he upcharged me to utilize extra space on the truck for items that he said were not included on my inventory but actually were (i.e. he said my bed frames were on the inventory but not my mattresses), I called customer service and she and the mover argued about the space (she said he wasn’t giving the quoted about and/or packing it wrong and he yelled at her about not knowing her cubic footage), they took over 3 weeks to deliver when they intia said 7 days max and I called 3 times about delivery and they literally gave me a different time frame each time, and when the mover showed up he tol me didn’t know how to assemble anything, so a guy from my neighbor helpEd assemble one bed, AND some of my furniture and an appliance was damaged. The only thing that makes matters worse is the person in “upper management “ I spoke with was extremely rude. The service is GARBAGE!!!

We are a family of six and we had to do a long distance move. Our house has 7 bedrooms and too many things for us to be able to move them alone. We desperately needed professional help and we got it. My father-in-law knew one of the guys at General moving & storage and recommended the company to us. Satisfied is a small word because these guys made miracles during the packing. I couldn’t even imagine how they would relocate our entire house and lives and everything in between. But they did it and we paid more than a reasonable price for everything!

Everything they did during the move was in my benefit (my furniture was nicely wrapped and packed) meaning that they really wanted to provide me with good service. I have used many moving companies in the past but after using General moving & storage, I was able to tell the difference. They knew what they were up against; they came with a plan, worked as a unit, kept their calm and focus, dealt with the problems with great presence of mind, showed extreme level of professionalism and made the task look so easy. It was quite a big move where they had to deal with my grand piano with the regular household items and furniture. But nothing was damaged or broken or missing. They have completed the task within the allotted time and kept the final cost within my reach. They are highly recommended!

Do Not Use! I booked my move from OH to AZ with them in March 2021. Had them scheduled to move my home in June 2021 and the truck never showed up. We had sold our home and had a timeline to move, and the truck never showed up. After calling them it was communicated that the truck broke down and they did not have another truck to give us. They stated that they would work on getting me a truck but that did not happen. Never heard from them for over a week. So, after waiting 2 days I had to start over and find a mover at the last minute which costed my double to move do to the fact it was in June and last minute. They collected my deposit and I still have not received my money back and am in the process of moving to the next steps to get accountability and well as calling the locale new channel. DO NOT US THIS COMPANY.

The move went great! We already had transferred some things to our new house but for the large furniture we needed some professional help. When the guys arrived with one huge van and started packing we knew we could relax and be at peace because they worked professionally and good. Our furniture arrived safe and sound at the end. Everyone hates moving but General moving & storage made it so easy! We packed up most of the stuff. They came with 3 guys and they took apart anything I wanted (like the bed) and moved everything with care. They clearly knew what they were doing. They worked really hard and I got a great deal. To be honest the move was just superb, there was no damage! There was a lot of furniture, clothes, electrical appliances, books and lots more. I was extremely impressed with the way this company was handling everything. The glass stuff was placed in boxes and secured with bubble wrap and shrink wrap. Everything was wrapped with blankets. Showed up 20 minutes early which is always a plus! The guys worked very fast and incredibly careful. They were very careful about avoiding scratching the walls and furniture. The packing and as well as unpacking, both were done with great care. The boxes were labeled; they stacked them in the appropriate locations. General moving & storage did every justice to my faith. If you are looking for a professional moving company, then you can go for them. Price seemed high, but for the quality of work, it was worth it! Great moving experience!

Their sales rep was very polite, attentive and responsive. Movers displayed extreme levels of accuracy while executing the move. They were fast, accurate, polite, friendly and skilled and they had the intention to make their customers happy. They managed to move the heavy and bulky goods with complete ease. There was no damage; the movers also helped us set up the new place. So, I did get what I wanted. A clean and easy move.

General moving & storage has been outstanding throughout the whole process. From start to finish, they were great. The manager himself came down to explain all the details and all my queries. It wasn’t a difficult move to be honest. But I was very scared about all the fragile items and my big TV. Last time I had a big problem with this matter. Anyways, the quote was reasonable and they delivered everything in one piece and without a scratch. I believe they are very professional and they will not give you a chance to complain.

Job well done by General moving & storage! I got a fair quote from them and the price was affordable and in fact cheaper than most other quotes some other companies were offering. They made sure that they had no hidden charge and they were very transparent about the charges. After the move, I realized they are trustworthy. They took good care of our goods during the move and there was no damage. They also carried out their duty very well by being courteous at all times which speak volumes for the company in terms of their efficiency. So all I can say is good job guys.

I read and searched a lot about moving companies and eventually, I decided to hire General moving & storage. I had so many items to be packed at my two bedroom house and I really needed professionals to move them to my new home. For me, the most important thing was that all my belongings stayed intact. They treated me so nicely and they were so careful dealing with my furniture. The price was great, too. No hidden fees or extra charges. I can just say that it was an amazing service from the very beginning to the very end.

The team that General moving & storage sent to do my move were all very diligent and they ensured that all of my belongings were secured, so that there was no damage. I guess the prices were a little bit more than it was going to be, it took a little bit longer than we thought. Frankly, the price was high due to the long distance. I obtained all the services I expected. I was just satisfied and they were a good company. I got a tense free move. That is all I wanted! I would use them again in future.

The customer service team was super responsive and helped me to reschedule my move for two days later. Shockingly, my items took up less space than what they had estimated. My sales representative quoted me 900 cubic feet, which is actually 850 cubic feet after loading! They told me it was going to be about 10 days for delivery when booking. I received it this morning! I could not recommend General moving & storage enough!! I guess it was a blessing that my original movers cancelled on me last minute.

I had many items to move and it was necessary to appoint a mover. Because of my past experience I didn’t dare to hire them alone. I depended on my cousin who used General moving & storage a few times. They concentrated on moving our valuables. Though we used to live in an old apartment, there was a wide staircase and elevator. It was not so hard to lug heavy items from the third floor to the truck. But it was tricky at our newly rented apartment. The delivery persons went through a spiral staircase on the fourth floor. They even skillfully bypass angling items. Nothing was dent or damaged. It was a great move, best experience!

Both companies are shady, they have F ratings on the BBB and I am sharing my story to help save anyone who considers them in the future. Its been 3 months, I don’t have any of my items (in fact some of it ended up with a stranger in New York) and they are trying to extort me for an insane amount of money to get any of my stuff back. IF YOU ARE MOVING A LONG DISTANCE, just sell everything and rebuy it. TRUST ME… all moving companies are shady and I am not the first person this has happened too and sadly, won’t be the last. They don’t care about you as a person, all they care about is the money and they’ve been scammers from the beginning.

I would recommend General moving & storage and would not hesitate to use them again if needed. Everything went very smoothly. Everyone I dealt with from the office to the delivery of our furniture was professional and courteous. Pickup and delivery was on time. Communication was excellent with all involved. It was a very positive experience.

I was offered an out of state position with my company but they needed me to start immediately. Even though they covered my moving costs they gave me very little time to plan. I called a few moving companies but the company with the fastest availability for the best price was General Moving & Storage. I’d never used them before so I didn’t exactly know what to expect. The move was done with great care and haste. Their movers were highly professional and never presented a single problem. Despite the last minute move they treated everything so well and got my furniture to me without a single issue or bit of damage. I will be keeping them in mind for any future moves and just wanted to pass on my recommendation.

I needed to get out of my girlfriend’s house RIGHT AWAY. They were there for two days and moved my things during the time I asked because that was the only time she would let me back in the house. I had a lot of stuff- three kids make you hoard a lot of things. General moving & storage had its work cut out. Four movers showed up right at 9 am. They were so strong looking. The packing was done very quickly. They carried my huge furniture very easily. They swiftly finished a mountain of packing and loading. They transported my valuables safely and on time. Did I mention that they were really inexpensive? I felt like these men were sent just for me to make my move smooth and easy.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We used this company for our move from San Francisco to Louisville in late 2020. After we paid, they contracted our move out to a third party moving company without telling us they were doing that and without any information about that company. We were told by General Moving our things would be delivered within 21 days. Over two months later, we not only did not have our things, but no one from either General Moving or Konami (the company that has now been arrested) would tell us where our things were or how we could get them. When we would contact General Moving, they would tell us it was out of their hands and they couldn’t help us. The moving company we paid thousands to couldn’t help us with our move…?! The third party movers threatened to keep our things if we didn’t pay more. Our hands were tied and we were months without our things. When we finally got our things, 100% of our belongings were either lost/stolen or completely ruined- table legs broken off, huge gouges out of wooden furniture, entire dressers and boxes not delivered/lost forever. When we complained to General Moving and asked for compensation we received none. We were told again it was out of their hands and the only apology we ever received was a “sorry to hear your move was less than perfect.” Less than perfect? The movers were arrested by the FBI in a massive investigation. Less than perfect seems like an understatement. We worked with FBI agents and are happy Konami was arrested at least, but are appalled at the complete lack of accountability and shady behind-the-scenes practices of General Moving. Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You have no way of knowing who they will give your things to and if you will ever see them again.

We couldn’t have been happier with our experience with General moving & storage. I requested a quote online and they called me almost immediately. The person who called me was so helpful and efficient with giving me the estimate and explaining the process. The movers arrived as expected, even a little earlier, and they were kind and respectful. They took great care of our stuff and took time to make sure everything was packed well to prevent any damage. Nothing scratched, nothing broken. My sister and I used General moving & storage to move our father closer to us and we cannot thank them enough for their kindness and their great service. We called and spoke to a man who provided us a quote over the phone. We did not really have another option. We explained there were most likely a lot of items we missed as we were going based on information from our father and pictures. They were able to give us as accurate quote as possible; we knew it would change, so we were prepared. They arrived at pick up and we had our sister there, the quote went up around $300. We honestly thought it would be more than that. Everything else went great and our dad is up here safe and sound!

These guys were great! We called over 15 moving companies for a quote. They responded right away with the most competitive rate. They were very friendly, professional, and easy to work with. We added several pieces along the way to our items, and were not overcharged. Nothing was damaged or broken upon delivery.

Their prices were affordable and their quality of work was amazing. Their deliver driver and crew even recommended a few local places for good food and attractions. We hired them on the basis of a recommendation from a family friend. Their quote seemed only fair given how much belongings we had. They sent over 4 very strong looking men who got to work right away. I was very pleased to see how professional these movers were. They were working tirelessly all over my big house without any complaints. Everything was in very good condition and none of our belongings went missing. This company is a scam. Was told by their sales department that my moving estimate included a full pack out at a set price. When it came time to move, they added an additional $2000.00. Had I not be proactive and contacted the company multiple times, they would have waited until 4 days before our move to let us know about the cost. There are three departments that do not speak to each other and they will not transfer you to the appropriate department when you call. This company made an already stressful process significantly more so. Do not trust what this company tells you and go with another more reputable company.

I worked with 2 different teams 3 consecutive days. They cared about our stuff and took good care of it. They moved us from a second floor apartment to a first floor unit across town in about 2.5 hours. They were awesome! They didn’t feel that they could move my piano, though, so it had to stay an extra day. I’m in my new living room looking at it now… no nicks or anything! On the day the movers of General Moving & Storage showed up, they walked around our house with us to get a better idea of what needed to be packed and got straight to work. After a long day of packing, they got everything loaded up onto the moving truck and went on their way. Once we made it to South Carolina, we let the movers know that we were ready for our items. They arrived in Myrtle Beach about a week later. They unloaded all of our items and we told them what rooms the boxes needed to be in. They put our furniture items back together for us and asked if we needed help with anything else before they left. My husband and I could not have been more pleased with what is hopefully our last move!

Everything was very easy to set up with General moving & storage. The moving crew arrived at my house on time and they called me to let me know that they were about an hour out. Everyone I came in contact with was very professional and knew just how to calm my stress levels down. The team all arrived on time and my move was completed earlier than I anticipated. The foreman even got there a few minutes early to get the needed paperwork completed beforehand. They moved my things out very quickly and with care. I have a lot of antiques and expensive furniture so I was definitely looking for a company I felt comfortable with and could trust. I am, by no means, an easygoing client. But I had no issues with the way General moving & storage handled my move. They were punctual, efficient and very friendly. The movers amazed me with their skills and strength. Their packing abilities were out of this world. I was told that they would deliver everything within 5-7 days. The van showed up at my new house before the allotted time. I was constantly looking for flaws but unfortunately I couldn’t find any. Even their final bill was less than the original estimate.

I am a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. I had to move my hospital and animal patients to New Mexico from Florida. I was terrified by the idea of moving the hospital. I found General moving & storage doing their work with perfection and safety via the internet. So, I contacted them and told them my case. To my surprise, I was given the time of that evening. They came up at my hospital and put the patients in a truck and put my stuff in another one and safely moved my hospital to my desired place. Great work done by these guys!!

It was great. My apartment was very small and very cramped and very hard to move around in. They were very patient with me as I tried to accommodate them moving around. They helped out with me moving things out of the way because they weren’t taking everything. I wasn’t moving everything, just some select items in different places in my apartment. They were very attentive and patient. Yes, the prices were very reasonable. Yes, packing was done to my satisfaction. They were very professional.

The movers were personable and accommodating. I had a very easy, very pleasant experience loading in and out of the truck. We discovered on the spot that the table I was moving would not fit into the hallway leading into my living room. The movers willingly took it apart and re-assembled it free of charge! And they were able to do it all within 2 hours to accommodate my budget. I seriously appreciated their understanding and attitudes; they were also a lot of fun. General Moving and Storage is a nightmare!! I still have PTSD from the experience. As another “real” customer wrote, they get you to sign promising flexibility and low prices. I had to commit to the move dates with a one week timeline to move from state to state. However, they did not make the arranged time so my storage locker was closed and when the movers came to the apartment in small rented truck, the wanted to charge me twice the quoted price. Then they said they could come back in a day or two to get the storage. We had to be out of our apartment the next day! I called “Tina” about the missed deadline and jacked up prices and asked for a least a partial refund, She stuck to the company line about needing to cancel 72 hours in advance for a refund. Then said she would check with her manager and call me back. Of course that never happened and she blocked my calls. Do not use this Company! Run!

This is a company BROKER who does not own trucks … they give low ball offers leave off items then hijack you right before the move. They use non registered nonprofessional movers. Their m.o. is lowball offer where they leave items off then intentionally raise saying you left out items. AVOID AVOID AVOID… no BBB rating Do t ever pay upfront or cash upfront … these are scammers. All five stars are fake on here. RUN

I found the rep to be extra helpful and accommodating. I was told by a couple of friends to watch out for unexpected price increases but General moving & storage gave us enough info to understand that it would definitely not be going up at all. The men who made the move for us were very cordial and behaved like pros. They asked where we wanted all our things and how we wanted them wrapped, which was a great service provided by assurance at no extra cost. They totally did an amazing job for me and I will recommend these guys without any hesitation or doubt to everyone!

In the end, I have to cancel my reservation due to my budget; the rep tries to work out the rate with my very limited budget unfortunately, still not working.
